Did you know that Hispanics only comprise about 4% of US lawyers and Latinas are only about 1.3% of US Lawyers?
Our mission at MABF is to enhance the diversity of the legal profession through education. We do this by supporting the dreams of young women and men of Latino heritage who are pursuing law careers.
With annual tuition starting around $45,000, law school is expensive. That is why, since 1991, the Foundation has awarded over $2.5 million, mostly in the form of scholarships and bar stipends. In 2017 alone, with the help of our generous supporters, MABF awarded 25 scholarships and 31 bar stipends totaling over $265,000.
As proud as we are of this accomplishment, we are equally enthusiastic about doing more! The Foundation receives over a hundred applications each year, and it HURTS when we have to turn exceptional law students away.
But you can help!
On #GivingTuedsay we challenge you to help us raise $10,000 to help #OneMoreScholar and thus enhance diversity in the legal profession with #OneMoreLicenciado #OneMoreLicenciada.
